Edward Shippey Sr. Edward Shelby Shippey Sr., 60, of Albany died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Mr. Shippey was born in Calhoun County Jan. 15, 1948, to the late Bennie Brown Shippey and Nelle Carver Shippey. He was a member of Morgan United Methodist Church and a retired private detective. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Survivors include one son, Edward Shelby Shippey Jr. and wife Gina of Morgan; and one granddaughter, Breana Shippey of Morgan. Graveside services were Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Morgan City Cemetery with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.
Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
