Canning plant opens
The Early County High food processing plant will open Thursday. The facility will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday through July 10.
The facility will be available to help with shelling, blanching and canning. The cost of shelling will be $4 per bushel, blanching $1 per bushel and cans will be 50 cents each.
The canning plant is operated by the Vocational Agriculture Department for private canning only. Call 723-5503 for more information or to make an appointment.
