Archbold committment remains strong Archbold Hospital officials gave an overview of recent events surrounding the hospital in Thomasville and announced that a new hospital administrator had been named to replace Robin Rau who had been terminated several weeks ago. Interim Archbold president Paul Mustain stated that the troubles facing Archbold in Thomasville stem from inaccurate records which could cause Archbold to have to return some supplemental Medicaid funding. The situation is still under investigation and has led to the resignation of chief financial officer Bill Sellers. "Our investigation has not found anyone else to be involved and we did not find that anyone was motivated by personal gain." Mustain also discussed the timing of the retirement of CEO Ken Beverly noting that his retirement had been planned for sometime and the timing was his decision. "He was not asked to retire or resign," he stated. "He felt it was the best thing to do to help us move on and get out from under the cloud we're under." "The change in leadership at Archbold has not changed our committment to this hospital, the community or the patients you serve," Mustain stated. Archbold Chief Operations Officer Kevin Taylor discussed the recent departure of Robin Rau as Early Memorial administrator. "Robin left here in good standing," Taylor stated. "But, we felt it was time to make an administrative change."
Taylor went on to state that a new administrator had been named and will be announced publicly next week. The new administrator is scheduled to assume his duties April 28.
