Young authors awarded

FCCLA members volunteer with third, fourth and fifth graders at Early County Elementary School.
Early County Elementary students recently entered the Young Georgia Author's Writing Competition. This competition encourages students to develop writing skills and celebrates the writing successes of all students. All writing entries included poetry, personal narratives, imaginative stories and essays. All first place entries will be judged at the state level and presented to the state board of education in September.

Kindergarten winners were: first, Caleb Williams; second, Kalisha Jackson; third, Andrew Smith; and fourth, Jordan Wiley.

First grade winners were: first, Katelyn Williams; second, Chase Weaver; third, Tajah Taylor; and fourth, Carter Rowland.

Second grade winners were: first, Perry Everson; second, Berenice Castro; third, Jarrett Heath; and fourth, David Ford.

Third grade winners were: first, Kyle Cutchens; second, Steven Richardson; third, Sutton Stuart; and fourth, Aaron Smith.

Fourth grade winners were: first, Shanna Suggs; second, Andre Grant; third, Ivy Tarver; and fourth, Lexy Welch.

Fifth grade winners were: first, Ethan Still; second, Aaliyah Yarbrough; third, Ashley Houston; and fourth, Lindsey McDonald.
