Gardening in Georgia on GPB American wisteria, mushrooms, bee houses and mailorder plants highlight "Gardening in Georgia with Walter Reeves" April 16 and 19. "Gardening in Georgia" airs on Georgia Public Broadcasting stations across Georgia each Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Asian wisteria can take over Southern pine trees. Show host Walter Reeves introduces the well-behaved American variety and explains how to tell the difference between the two. Without bees, the garden will suffer. Reeves will build a simple house for pollinating orchard mason bees using bamboo, wood and a drill. Caring for mail-order plants may seem easy, but Reeves shows the best way to nurture the Athens Select plants he receives after opening them. He digs into the mysterious fungal flower, the mushroom, too.
