After 34 years of service, Billy Adams is hanging up his hat at Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park. A familiar face in the park's museum, Adams has introduced the history of Kolomoki Mounds to thousands of school children as well as to park visitors from around the world. He's also witnessed many changes at the park including an expansion and remodeling of Kolomoki's museum facility.
Adams was honored with a retirement luncheon March 27 at Kolomoki Mounds with Kolomoki staff, state park representatives and friends and relatives on hand to wish him well.
Among those on hand were two of the park's former managers, Larry Blankenship and Eric Bentley. Adams was presented a photo of the temple mound which was signed by fellow staff members and guests.
