Johnny Hightower Johnny Will Hightower, 65, of Blakely died Feb. 27, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Mr. Hightower was born in Blakely Nov. 29, 1962, to the late Fred Hightower and Catherine Wimberly. He was employed at Martin and Son Chevrolet for many years before moving to Great Southern Paper Mill in Cedar Springs where he worked for 18 years before he retired. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline; one sister, Annie Mae Pitts; and one brother, Bobby Hightower. Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Hightower; three sons, Johnny D. Hightower and wife Juanice, Anthony Hightower and Phillip Hightower and wife Shemekia; one daughter, Priscilla Epps and husband Cedric; stepmother, Lois Hightower of Blakely; mother-in-law, Minnie Hollinger of Rivera Beach, Fla.; five sisters, Patricia Wade of Dothan, Bessie Mae, Lois and Patricia of Florida and Vonell of Blakely; six brothers, Claude, Jerry, Michael and Billy Hightower of Blakely, Dennis and Jimmy Hightower of Connecticut; three granddaughters, Denechia Hightower Tinson, Blakely Merritt and Madison Hightower; three grandsons, Brandon Foster, Vandyke Lee and Jordan Epps; and six great-grandchildren, Jawanis, Zack, Branyah, Kiel, Vontae and Deantae. Funeral services were Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Fred Daniels officiating. Interment followed at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.
