Gilbert Kelley Sr. Gilbert Meed Kelley Sr., 75, of Donalsonville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Mr. Kelley was born in Cowan, Tenn., April 2, 1932, to the late H.K. Kelley and Theona Harpe Kelley. He was the owner of the local radio station WSEM-AM, WGMK-FM and WBBKFM& AM and was involved with broadcasting for well over 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member and past president of Donalsonville Lion's Club and chamber of commerce. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Kelley, Thad Kelley and Bob Kelley; and one sister, Margaret Kelley. Survivors include his wife, Grace Kelley of Donalsonville; three sons, Steve Farley and wife Vicki of Eufaula, Gil Kelley Jr. of Donalsonville and Mike Farley and wife Alyce of LaGrange, N.C.; three daughters, Pam Chain and husband Gary of Hattiesburg, Miss., Becky Newberry and husband Ted of Donalsonville and Cyndi Middleton and husband Mike of Colquitt; three sisters, Mary Faerber of Chula Vista, Calif., Sally Lucero of Portland, Ore., and Judy Rohrs of Kissimmee, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Giglio, Brian Farley, Kelley McKenzie, Zach Chain, Hannah Grace Chain, Meed Kelley, Georgia Farley, Chad Newberry, Brooke Newberry, Michael Middleton Jr., and Jamie Middleton; and nine great-grandchildren, Haleigh Giglio, Adrienne Giglio, Brianne Farley, Kristen Farley, Elizabeth McKenzie, Eli McKenzie, Harlie Middleton, MaKaylie Middleton and Lillie Middleton. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Ed King, Scott Mitchell, Brad Clarke, Greg Whittaker, Howard Whittaker, Marc Godby and John Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Jack and Polly Brannon, J.B. and Laurie Clarke, Alf and Jeanette Greene, Luther and Martha Nell Spooner, Bo and Carolyn McLeod, Billy and Betty Jane Spooner, Eugene and Jackie Hornsby, Jack and Ruth Shamblin, Bud and Lila Youmans and Mary Helon King.
