Two local 4-H'ers took a share of top honors at the 18th annual Georgia Junior National Livestock Show last week at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.
The National Junior Livestock Show, held Feb. 20-24, featured Georgia's 4-H and FFA students competing for statewide championships. Approximately 2,100 youths showed over 3,500 entries in classes for hogs, heifers, steers, commercial dairy heifers and breeding ewes.
Jay Glass, son of Jody and Dana Glass of Blakely, showed a Limousine heifer which won Reserve Champion Limousine and the Grand Champion Georgia-bred Heifer.
Another local 4-H'er, Rick Jester, showed the Reserve Champion Hog in his division and also showed the Reserve Champion State Hog. Rick is the son of Hank and Lisa Jester of Arlington.
