Phyllis Carpenter Phyllis Mock Carpenter, 56, of Headland, Ala., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Colquitt to Mary Danford Mock and the late Broughton Mock. She was a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Frenchies School of Cosmetology in Dothan and retired as the co-owner and operator of Family Hair Care Center in Columbia, Ala. Survivors, other than her mother, include her husband, Arulfo Urb "Shorty" Cadena of Headland; three sons, Curtis Lee Carpenter of Columbia, Leon Carpenter and wife Nicole of Haleburg, and Michael Carpenter and wife Debbie of Headland; three sisters, Joyce Williams of Augusta, Dena Spurling and husband Jesse of Apopka, Fla., and Suzanne Maloy of Colquitt; one brother, Bill Mock of Miller County; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services were Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Holman- Headland Mortuary Chapel with Rev. A.M. Treadwell officiating.
Holman-Headland Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
