Murdock - Hathorn

William Tate Murdock Sr. of Coleman and Betty Brookins Murdock of Arlington announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth, to Thomas James Hathorn, both of Arlington.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James Madison Murdock of Albany and the late Edith Goode Murdock, Norman Royce Brookins of Columbus and the late Elizabeth McNeil Brookins, and Fannie Elnora Booker of Damascus.

Miss Murdock is a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy and Georgia Southwestern State University where she graduated magna cum laude receiving her bachelor of science in education with a major in early childhood education. She is employed by the Early County School System.

The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Buford Hathorn of Arlington, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harlowe Newberry of Arlington and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cook of Leary.

Mr. Hathorn is a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy and the University of Georgia where he received his bachelor of arts degree with a major in geography. He is employed by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission in Dawson.

The wedding is planned for May 10, 2008, at six o'clock in the evening at Arlington United Methodist Church with a reception to follow at Quail Country Plantation. All friends of the couple are invited to attend.
