Eggs & Issues and...
Early County 2055 was a major participant and sponsor of this year's events which took place in the Murphy Ballroom at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta Monday and Tuesday last week as the General Assembly began its 2008 session. "It was quite impressive, Early County was well represented," Representative Gerald Greene told the News Thursday at the capitol. Noting that EC2055 was a platinum sponsor of the events, Senator John Bulloch also stated Thursday, "We've never had a county represented like that. CocaCola wasn't even a platinum sponsor." On the podium at the Eggs & Issues Breakfast were Gov. Perdue, Lt. Gov. Cagle and House Speaker Richardson. Each outlined his agenda for the session and, while there are clear differences among the three, there was no disagreement on the overall objective, to make Georgia a stronger, safer, healthier place to live, work and raise families.
"For business and community leaders, there is little doubt that all three speakers hold strong probusiness beliefs and this seemed to please the sellout crowd," the Georgia Chamber of Commerce noted on their website. As a major sponsor there there was an exhibit and information available about Early County 2055 and what is planned for the coming year.
There was a contigent of approximately 16 people representing Early County at the event.
