Georgia Cotton Conference planned for Jan. 29-30

The Georgia Cotton Commission's first annual meeting plans are coming together nicely. Held in conjunction with the Georgia Cotton Production Workshop and the Georgia Quality Awards presentations, the conference will take place at the Tifton Campus Conference Center Jan. 29-30.

The UGA Cotton Team and Georgia Cotton Commission decided to merge these events and provide a comprehensive educational experience where growers can hear from researchers and industry leadership, and have a chance to visit with representatives from various industry suppliers...all in one trip.

The conference schedule begins at mid-day Jan. 29 with the Georgia Cotton Production Workshop followed by the Georgia Cotton Quality Award reception and banquet that evening. Jan. 30 will begin with breakfast, immediately followed by the commission's annual meeting program. Scheduled speakers are from Cotton Council International, the National Cotton Council and Staplcotn who will share information and their perspectives on the outlook of the many aspects of the cotton industry, its challenges, changes and growth. The day will end with a lunch and final breakout sessions of the Georgia Cotton Production Workshop.

Educational credit hours are available during the workshop. Growers may register online, for no charge, at www.ugatiftonconference. org or call Karen McBrayer of the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center at 229- 386-3416.

When registering, please indicate which portions of the conference you want to attend (production workshop, quality awards banquet, breakfast and lunch) so meals and breaks can be planned. Program and registration information is posted on the commission's website at www.georgiacottoncommission. org
