Hooker - Carr

Mr. and Mrs. Mikkie Lee Hooker of Evans, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Anne Hooker, to Michael Robin Carr Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Robin Carr of Donalsonville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Fred Lee Hooker and Mary Ella Burton Hooker, both of North Augusta, S.C., and Bertha Eller Landis of Chilhowie, Va.

Miss Hooker earned specialist and master degrees in school guidance and counseling from Georgia Southern University and a bachelor of science in education from Georgia College and State University. An Evans High School honor graduate, she is employed by the Columbia County Board of Education as an elementary educator.

The future groom is the grandson of Joe H. McGowan of Colquitt and the late Ilene Hicks McGowan, and Ouida Carr and the late Hugh E. Carr, all of Donalsonville.

Mr. Carr earned a bachelor of science from the University of Georgia, a bachelor of arts in psychology, magna cum laude from Piedmont College and is a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus. He is currently a student at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Atlanta.

The wedding is planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Warren Baptist Church in Augusta.
