Early Head Start registration begins

The Early County Child Development Center will take applications for the 2008-09 school year Jan. 28 through Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Early County Child Development center located at 5038 Freeman Rd.

Those eligible for Head Start are children ages three and four.

Head Start also seeks to enroll children with disabling conditions, children who are seriously emotionally disturbed, mentally retarded, blind or visually impaired, deaf or hearing impaired, physical or health impaired, requiring special education.

To complete the registration procedure, all applicants are asked to bring the child's certified birth certificate, with file number, Child Care Certificate #3231 (immunization record), Medicaid Card, a copy of EPSDT screening (Health Check) if on Medicaid, all family members' Social Security cards and all family income verification that can be left with the center, proof of income (preferably their 2007 income tax form) or a notarized statement from an employer, a check stub or a W2 form.
