Brooks receives student leader award

LeeAnn Brooks, a senior at LaGrange College in LaGrange, was presented the LaGrange College Student Leader Award in a special ceremony Nov. 26.
The award presentation began the college's Celebrate the Servant observance, a week-long schedule of events designed to place an emphasis on servant leadership and to celebrate the Christmas season.
Dean of Students Linda Buchanan stated that this award is given to those who embody the characteristics of servant-leadership and LaGrange College is proud to recognize individuals who have made a difference in the community, the college and in the lives of others.
College President Stuart Gulley presented the pendant symbolizing this honor to LeeAnn. "LeeAnn represents what servant-leadership is all about," said Gulley, citing her history of "giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. LeeAnn incorporates the principles of servantleadership into the way she lives and we think it is important to hold her up as an example for us all."

Brooks serves on the leadership of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and the Interfaith Council. Brooks has just completed an internship with Harmony House, a local shelter for abused women and their children, where she continues to volunteer her time.
LeeAnn is the daughter of Paschal and Kay Brooks of Arlington.
