Robert Shepard Robert Al Shepard, 54, of Blakely died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. Mr. Shepard was born in Blakely April 1, 1953, to the late Johnny Shepard and Bernice Shepard. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and enlisted in the military in 1974 and served until Sept. 1, 1982. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann Vance Shepard; a son, Travis Shepard of Lithonia, Ga.; a daughter, Tanjanika Shepard of Lithonia; five brothers, William Shepard of New Haven, Conn., Johnny Shepard and wife Marilyn of Riverdale, Ga., Larry Shepard and wife Martha of Arlington, Richard Shepard and Ricky Shepard, both of Blakely; three sisters, Alva Henderson and husband Lewis of New Haven, Conn., Dorothy Kochendofer and husband Richard of Enterprise, and Patricia Kennedy and husband Walter; and two grandchildren, Bruklyn Glenn and Dior Glenn, both of Lithonia. Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Church Street Church of Christ with Bro. Jesse Jackson officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Murray and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
