Smith plays in California

Edward Smith
Edward Smith, a Blakely native, led the College of the Siskiyous football team defense with 7 tackles and 3 interceptions to down rival Shasta College 49-26.

These numbers tied the COS record held by the current defensive coordinator James Gravelle. The three picks gave Smith seven picks for the season.

"It felt good," said Smith, of tying the record. The Eagles stand 6-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Smith was a 2006 graduate of Early County High School. He played for the Bobcats as a linebacker and safety from the 2002 season through the 2005 season. He is the son of Patricia Owens of Blakely.
