Couple celebrates 65th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Brooks were honored on their 65th wedding anniversary with a luncheon at George T. Bagby Lodge Dec. 20. They were married Dec. 20, 1942.
The luncheon was attended by family and friends. Mr. Brooks is a retired farmer. He farmed in Edison for over 50 years. Mrs. Brooks is the former Rushabelle Engram from Cuthbert and is retired from Riverside. They have two children, Joan Ragan and husband Thomas and Jack Brooks and wife Mary of Edison. They have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
