Celebrate southern culture

Colquitt is the place you want to be Saturday, Nov. 8 during the Festival of Southern Culture. Good talent, good food, and a fun time make this a great family event. A great line-up of very talented artists is planned throughout the day and it is free. Spots are still available. Five winners share a portion of the $3,750 in cash to be given away.

Cash prizes will also be given away for the Spring Creek Smokeoff BBQ competition. Billy Kimbrel and the Colquitt Lions Club will be in charge of this event. After the judging, barbeque plates and sandwiches will be on sale. There will also be greens, beans and cornbread.

The Colquitt Senior Center will have a bingo tent and $500 in Colquitt bucks will be given to the winners.

The perfect peanut recipe as well as baked goods, canned items and quilts will be at the country fair exhibit. Colquitt bucks will be given to the winners in each of these categories.

An antique car and tractor show will be on displa, and children will have inflatables to enjoy.
