TSA attends convention in Perry

      Early County High School Technology Student Association departed from the high school parking lot at 6:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6 headed to Perry for the Georgia TSA Convention. The convention was in heritage hall on the Georgia National Fairgrounds.

      LeeAnn Elizabeth Brooks is continuing studies at LaGrange College Graduate School to earn her advanced degree of master's of arts in teaching, following her graduation with honors this past spring. Brooks was awarded the Waights G. Henry Jr. Award, the most prestigious award that can be received by a graduating senior student.

Folsom named queen
      Allie Folsom, formally of Blakely, was recently crowned 2008 Miss Hahira Honeybee Queen. Hahira, in metro Valdosta, is home to the annual Hahira Honeybee Festival. The festival is host to over 30,000 visitors, including Shriners from all over the southeast.

ABAC accepting Hall of Fame nominations
      Nominations are now being accepted for the Athletics Hall of Fame at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The honorees will be inducted at the annual Hall of Fame dinner on Feb. 13, 2009. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 1, 2008.
