The Blakely City Council voted to notify the Early County Commission of their decision to end the city/county fire protection collaboration effective Jan. 1, 2009. The National FFA Organization announced Heath Busby of Blakely was selected as a national finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Landscape Management - entrepreneurship/placement.
