Bobcats lose to Bainbridge Bearcats

      The Bainbridge Bearcats used a 17 point third quarter to overcome a halftime deficit to defeat the Early County Bobcats 38-21 Friday night at Standifer Field. The Bobcats fell to 0- 1 while Bainbridge is 1-0. Trailing 21-14 at the intermission, the Bearcats caught several breaks that help them build their lead.

SGA defeats Westwood 28-0
      The Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors won their season opener Thursday night in Damascus, defeating the Westwood Wildcats 28-0. The Warriors took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Taylor Tabb took the game's first punt 56 yards for a touchdown.

Lady Cats travel to Seminole
      The Lady Cats traveled to Seminole County Aug. 18 to play the rival Lady Indians. The senior Lady Cats had revenge in mind having never beaten Seminole in their careers. Clara Beth Lightsey started the game off with a single to right field. Lightsey advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Courtney Floyd. After two more quick outs, Lightsey was stranded on second.
