      John Wilmer "Red" Lane, 93, of Columbia, Ala., died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Mr. Lane was born in Early County Oct. 26, 1914, to the late Leroy Lane and Lillie Mae Knighton Lane. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Griffin, Ga., and a retired aircraft mechanic for Delta Airlines.
