District Governor Bill Woulfin of Stone Mountain paid the Blakely Rotary Club a special visit this month to present several special awards.

He presented Rotarian Raymond Singletary the Vernon Twitty Award given to the Rotarian that has a combination of good attendance and longevity both in Rotary and in community affairs.

"The Vernon Twitty award recognizes the Rotarian that stands out in the district as that special person that has continued to be a role model over many years," Woulfin stated.

He also presented Mr. Singletary with an award in recognition of 75 years of service to Rotary.

"It is the only one ever given in this district and I doubt there are more than a few in the world of Rotary," Woulfin stated. "It recognizes an individual that has continued to live his life in an environment of Service Above Self over three quarters of a century."

"It was one of the highlights of my year to be able to present the awards to Raymond Singletary. He is a true Rotarian and community asset."
