Area students among 256 graduating from Bainbridge College
      Drawing on the wisdom of George Washington, Dr. James A. Burran inspired 1,100 listeners at Bainbridge College's Graduation with positive and productive ways of living. Burran, former Dalton State College president, was introduced by Bainbridge College President Dr. Tom Wilkerson, with whom he had worked almost 25 years in the University System of Georgia.

District governor visits Rotary
      District Governor Bill Woulfin of Stone Mountain paid the Blakely Rotary Club a special visit this month to present several special awards. He presented Rotarian Raymond Singletary the Vernon Twitty Award given to the Rotarian that has a combination of good attendance and longevity both in Rotary and in community affairs.

Georgians encouraged to request absentee ballots
      Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel today encouraged Georgians to request an absentee ballot for the July 15, 2008 General Primary Election and the November 4, 2008 General Election. Registered voters in Georgia can request an absentee ballot for the General Primary and the General Election beginning Thursday, May 8.
