Four local races contested
The political pot finally heated up - a little - during qualifying last week. When qualifying closed at noon Friday there were four local contested races involving 10 candidates. There will be a full slate of offices on the July 15 General Primary ballot. The contested races are for sheriff, tax commissioner, coroner and County Commission district 2. More...
County meeting

The Early County Board of Commissioners appointed two new members and reappointed a third to the Development Authority Monday night. Steve Singletary and Robert Chester were appointed to replace June Merritt and Patricia Cleveland and Lisa Collins was reappointed for another term. More...

Tina Bradley crowned May Day queen

Miss Tina Bradley was crowned the queen of the 77th May Day Festival in Arlington Saturday by the festival's reigning queen, Miss Adrianna Wims.
