A night on the town
     On April 10, left to right, Brad Hughes, Joan Wall, Lisa Collins, Georgina Freeman, Julie Jarrett, Priscilla Collins, Andrea Rice and Barton Rice attended the Atlanta Film Festival's opening night red carpet premiere of "The Lena Baker Story" (with scenes filmed in Early County) and after the post screening, attended the opening night celebration at the Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center.

Commodity distribution in Calhoun County
      USDA government surplus commodity distribution will be held in Calhoun County at 104 Maxwell Street in Arlington on April 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. if supplies last. All recipients must certify their eligibility. Those who wish to qualify need to bring some form of identification and know their total household income.

Rec facility completed in Damascus
      The City of Damascus has just completed a recreation facility funded with SPLOST monies. The facility includes a ballfield and a multi-purpose tennis/basketball court. "Thousands of dollars could have been saved if this had been completed some years ago," stated Mayor Heath McDowell. "So far this project has cost us $69,000.
