Mumbles
That would be all the children, grandchildren and their dogs headed for our house this weekend. With special permission from Santa, we're going to do the Christmas thing - including opening gifts and gorging ourselves at the dinner table - at our house Saturday. It will be fun, it will be Jake's first Christmas, and it will allow Allen and Denise to be at home in Phenix City Christmas morning for Santa's visit there. And, Holden, Jenny and Jake will be able to enjoy Christmas as well with family and friends in Birmingham. Okay, I know you don't want to hear me expound on the relatively quiet Christmas morning we're gonna have after most of them are gone. There are all these issues facing our community you would rather read about. But, it's Christmas, and next to celebrating Christ's birthday, that's where our minds and hearts should be - with our families. I hope you are with yours this holiday season. And I hope and wish you a very Merry Christmas with them! ************** We tend to forget how powerful mother nature can be at times, and just how fast she can strike. We pretty much dodged a bullet Saturday evening when that storm front came through. Several near misses as that tornado swept by us could have easily been a trail of mangled bodies. Arm yourselves with a weather alert radio! In the meantime, thank you Lord for the rainfall it brought! ************
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.
