The Early County C Team Blue Bobcats are back to back superbowl champions.

Everyone knew that they had big shoes to fill after last years superbowl champion Bobcats went undefeated and unscored on by opponents. The team set a goal at the beginning of this past season to be repeat champions.

With heart, dedication and hard work, their dream became a reality Nov. 17. Carrying a 16-game winning streak over the past two seasons, the Cats headed to Cottondale, Fla., to face an undefeated Hornet team.

Malik Thornton put the Cats on the scoreboard first, picking off his fourth pass of the season and returning it 54 yards for the touchdown.

A defensive battle ensued, with neither team gaining a first down until halftime. The Cat offense, led by quarterback Eli Cushing, made its statement on their first possession of the second half. The offensive line battled it out for a 12-play drive that took the entire third quarter. Jarquez Davis and Ken Sheppard paved the way for Erik Yarbrough as he broke free on a 55 yard trap to put the Cats up 12-0.

With 5:32 left in the fourth quarter, Cottondale managed to slip around the end for a touchdown of their own, making it 12-6.

The Cats wouldn't stand for that. Three plays later, Yarbrough once again found the end zone. A 60- yard sprint off tackle made it 18-6 with 3:30 to play. The defense slammed the door on the Hornets to seal the 18-6 victory.
