Azzie Lee Gilbert Azzie Lee Gilbert, 80, of Blakely died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Early Memorial Nursing Home. Mrs. Gilbert was born in Blakely May 28, 1927, to the late Virginia Johnson and Joe Johnson. She was a member of the Restored House UCOGIC. She was preceded in death by a son,Willie James Gilbert; two sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Annie Bell Johnson; and two brothers, Richard Johnson and Perry Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Will Gilbert Sr.; five sons, Charles Gilbert and wife Rose, Will Gilbert Jr., Curtis Gilbert and wife Kathy, Rosevelt Gilbert, and Phillip Gilbert and wife Ann; one daughter, Virginia and husband Willie C.; two sisters, Jessie Belle Hughes and Victoria Johnson; one brother, Albert Johnson; two daughters-in-law, Rubye Gilbert Shorter and Brenda Gilbert Mosely; 21 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at 2 p.m. at The Restored House UCOGIC with district supervisor Maria L. Stapleton officiating. Interment followed at Green Cemetery.
Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
