Youth cheerleaders excel in competition

The Early County youth cheerleaders participated in competition in Alabama and Florida and put on top performances.
Being escorted by Dream Big, the Early County Youth Cheerleaders traveled to Dothan to compete at the National Peanut Festival Competition Nov. 3. All three squads, A, B and C, put on top performances and came home with first place trophies. C-Team cheerleader, Holly Temples, daughter of David and Pam Temples, competed in the individual jump off, individual tumble pass and individual dance/cheer routine where she won first place for individual dance/cheer routine.

A-Team Cheerleader, Alexis Grant, daughter of Connie Grant, also competed in the individual dance/cheer routine category and placed second. Early County fans and cheerleaders also competed and won the "FAN"tastic Award which was given to the fans who showed the most spirit. Thank you to all who participated and helped make this possible.

They also traveled to Cottondale, Fla., Saturday, Nov. 17, where they competed in their inner-league competition.

Competing against six other squads, A-Team cheerleaders won with a flawless routine and brought home another first place win with perfect scores from every judge. BTeam placed second with only a one-point loss to the first place Eufaula Tigers. With less than one point from a perfect score, CTeam also brought home another first place trophy. Holly Temples won first place in the C-Team individual jump off. B-Team cheerleaders won the spirit stick which was given to the squad who had the most spirit. These cheerleaders and their sponsors have been working hard since July to prepare for these competitions.

A-Team cheerleaders are Claudia Ceasar, Jamey White, Makayla Johnson, Chasity George, Alexis Grant, Angie Kinjerski, Ciera James, Nicki Griffin, Shontavious Walker, Morgan White, Markeshia Hayes, Lindsey Smith, Haley McClendon, Whitney Often, Jo'Nesha West, Chastady Dunbar and Breanna George. Sponsors are Kim Williams, Jami Elliott, Maureen Smith and Susan McClendon.

Led by sponsors Ginger Cushing and Regina Floyd, B-Team Cheerleaders are Izabella Cushing, Dakota Carpenter, Caroline Pope, Kimberly Williams, Harlie Glass, Mackenzie Anderson, Kedrah Grant, Lexy Welch, Cassie Ingle, Mahalia Grier, Betsy Lucas, Winter Tiner, Shabreka Sparks and Zykira Beacham.

C-Team cheerleaders are Marci Warren, Makayla Mock, Holly Temples, Kiara Kimble, Re'Keysha George, Joy Brown, Taylor Williams, Taylor Engram, Summer Sanders, Kaley Ingram, Kimbrea Sparks, Destiny Worlds, Bianca Foster, Jyra Mays and Emari Rainge. Their sponsors are Linda Warren, Racheal Engram and Taylor Williams.
