Winette Cook Homemaker Winette Daniels Cook, 91, of Cuthbert died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, after a short illness in Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. Mrs. Cook was born in the Rowena community in Early County April 6, 1916, to the late Frank and Ola Steadham Daniels. She was a homemaker and lived most of her married life in Albany. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angeline Barksdale Cook; a grandson, John David Cook; a brother, Tennyson Daniels; and two sisters, Berta Daniels Cook and Lucille Daniels Timmons. Survivors include her husband, Peyton Horace Cook of Plains; one daughter, Carolyn Adams and husband Verna Ray of Leary; two sons, Peyton Horace Cook Jr. and wife Brenda of Charleston, S.C., and Shellman, and Wendell Lamar Cook and wife Glenda of Rome, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Barbara Adams Raines of Albany, Tracie Adams McLendon of Leary, Stephen Adams of Auburn, Ala., Lisa DeThomas Shaw of Albany, Peyton H. Cook III of Anchorage, Ak., Wendall L. Cook Jr. of Huntsville and Terrell D. Cook of Harvest, Ala.; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Randolph County with Rev. Jim Eubanks officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington. Pallbearers were Peyton Cook III, Wendell Cook, Terrell Cook, Adam McLendon, Stephen Adams, Jimmy Hodge Timmons and Thomas Daniels. John Timmons served as an honorary pallbearer.
Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
