Hursteen Rollins Cloth Cutter Hursteen West Rollins, 82, of Blakely, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Rollins was born in Early County Jan. 20, 1925, to the late Maxwell Furman Rollins and Violeeta West Rollins Reeves. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a retired cloth cutter at Brew Apparel and was a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Bell. Survivors include his wife, Miriam Hartley Rollins of Blakely; one daughter, Brenda R. Jordan and husband Jimmy of Geneva, Ala.; one son, Maxwell Rollins and wife Donna of Summerville, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Rollins and Robert Rollins, both of Summerville, S.C. Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Zion Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Rogers and Rev. Jimmy Hooks officiating. Interment followed in the Sowhatchee Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Terry Ferguson, James Weaver, Ronnie Willis, Mike Ellis, Steve Ellis, Smiley Bush and Buddy Lucas. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Anderson, Ralph Ellis, David Still, Bobby Davis, Cyril English, Pete Odum, Arthur Brackin, Bob Roberts, John L. Still, Buddy Ellis and members of the Blakely American Legion and the V.F.W.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity or to the Children's Home.
