James E. Lewis Veteran James Edward "Boe" Lewis, 58, of Blakely died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Early Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lewis was born in Blakely Feb. 4, 1948, to the late Edith Brown Lewis and Julius Lewis Sr. He was a member of the Church Street Church of Christ and served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wright Lewis; and one son, Travis Armond Lewis. Survivors include two sons, Kelly Antonia Lewis and Michael DeShun Lewis, both of Atlanta; two sisters, Beauty Lewis Smith and husband Raymond and Betty Lewis Henderson and husband Johnny, all of Blakely; three brothers, Larry Lewis, Dara LaVaughn Lewis Sr. and wife Rebecca, all of Blakely, and Robert West of Miami, Fla.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Church Street Church of Christ with evangelist James Scurlark officiating. Interment followed at Mount Olive Cemetery in Blakely. Pallbearers were Harold Brown, Mack Hall Jr., Patrick DeShun Henderson, Victor Jermaine Henderson, Rodney Nelson Smith and Henry Williams. Honorary Pallbearers were Will Gilbert, Euwarner Harris, Vic Henderson, Dara LaVaughn Lewis Sr., Dara LaVaughn Lewis Jr., Kelley Antonio Lewis, Larry Lewis and Michael DeShun Lewis.
Community Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
