Adkinson wins stock car race in Atlanta
      Jeff Adkinson of Damascus won the sixth NHRA Lucas Oil Division Series victory of his career, and first in nearly 19, at the Atlanta Dragway Sept. 30 when he earned the stock eliminator victory in his C/SA '69 Camaro. "That sounds so horrible," laughed Adkinson, a peanut farmer.

      The Early County School System's Pre-K classes made their annual visit to the pumpkin patch at Lucy Hilton Maddox Memorial Library Oct. 18.The rainy day didn't dampen the spirits of the students who enjoyed a variety of activities including story telling, crafts, music and a sack lunch.

Spring Creek receives grant to develop obesity program
