Hudson - Roberts vows spoken

Mr. and Mrs. Tavis Tacree Roberts
LaTesa Monique Hudson and Tavis Tacree Roberts were united in marriage Sept. 29, 2007, at Gethsemane Worship Center in Albany. Rev. Earl Hallmon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Damascus officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony.

Miss Hudson is the daughter of Veara "Sandy" Hudson, and Gerradi Henderson and Melonia Henderson. She is the granddaughter of Eunice Flowers and Erma Hubbard.

Mr. Roberts is the son of Jurya and Harvest Williams and Donald Roberts. He is the grandson of Nick Ann Flowers. Memorial candles were lit in loving memory of great-grandparents, the late Deretha Barnes, Annie Dixon and Tice Williams.

The bride was escorted by her father, Gerradi Henderson, and given in marriage by both parents.

She wore an elegant white Monique Luo tulle and organza A-line designer gown with beaded lace and a vertical ruffle skirt. Her cathedral veil, trimmed in pick-up ruffles and accented with rhinestones, extended over the ruffled chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of red and white carnations and roses.

The bride's attendants wore floor-length satin, sleeveless two-piece dresses with a beaded bodice and a small train, and carried bouquets of fall-colored carnations and white calla lilies.

The maids of honor, dressed in persimmon orange, were Alesha Powell, friend of bride, and Shalinda Benton, bride's sorority sister, both of Atlanta. Dressed in chocolate brown, the bridesmaids included Toccara Deberry, LaRobin Flowers, and Roquia Flowers, all of Albany, Kawana Flowers and Carmenlita Lewis of Arlington, Alicia Gibbons and Bijal Patel of Atlanta, Pamela Grimsley of Bainbridge, Karen Harris of Savannah, Kellie Tiller, sorority sister of Augusta, and LaDawnya Gray of Blakely.

Tramann Cawthorne of Blakely and Nate George of Colquitt served as best men. The groomsmen included Raydise Cooper, Maurice Grant, Andrico Holmes, Reginald Perkins, Ben Williams, all of Colquitt, Eric Holland of Americus, LaQuient Macklin of Atlanta, Scottie Roberts of Ft. Hood, Texas, Randy Flowers of Albany, Jamison Winns of Tifton and Charles Grant of New Orleans.

Hostesses, ushers and junior attendants consisted of friends and family of the couple. Wearing red dresses and each carrying a white rose, the bride's sorority sisters, XI ETA Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, entered at the beginning at of the ceremony. The bride's sister, Keairra King, and groom's son, Kartavis Roberts, were the junior bride and groom.

A dedication prayer was offered by Rev. George L. Hutchins. Music included the Lord's Prayer by Rev. Hallmon and the bride's friends, Brandie Sanders and Brandon Jackson, who sang "I'm Your Angel." The bride's cousin, Andrea Jones, performed a praise dance to Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon in the Sky." Shandon Dixon directed the wedding. Nell Freeman was florist and decorator, photography was by Roger Johnson and videography by Al Hutchins. The reception was held at the Garden Club Center in Albany.

The couple honeymooned at Sandals Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, for one week before returning to their home in Atlanta.
