Rotary partners with ECHS

ECHS student Davonte Major and Charles Jenkins of the City of Blakely enjoy lunch at Rotary.
Seven Early County High School students participated in a job shadowing experience sponsored by the Blakely Rotary Club. Students spent a day at Rotarians' work sites. They gained valuable first-hand knowledge of the day-to-day operations and tasks that take place in a career of interest to them.

Tenica Williams spent the day shadowing Tony Hawkins of Camp E-Tu- Nake. She commented about her experience, "Some people would say they would never visit Camp ETu Nake, but I would go back anytime."

Kaylon Harrell spent the day with teacher Michelle Peace and states, "This was quite the experience. I realized that teachers devote their lives to mentoring and getting kids ready for the real world." Santana Powell shadowed several employees at the Bank of Early saying, "The best thing I learned was the importance of having a nice attitude when dealing with customers. I would love to work with the people at the Bank of Early."

Brian Virgin worked with William Davis of First State Bank. He noted, "I highly enjoyed my experience with Mr. William. I learned a lot that is already helping me in the accounting classes I am taking at ECHS." All of the students were especially appreciative of the business people who spent time with them on this day.
