Substitute teacher training Oct. 31 The last opportunity available this year for persons interested in substitute teaching for the Early County School System for the 2007-2008 school year will be Oct. 31 at the Early County High School Media Center, 12020 Columbia Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A system-wide orientation will immediately follow the first part of the training, and it is mandatory to attend both sessions in order to substitute teach in Early County. At this time applications will be distributed. When you turn in your application to the superintendent's office, bring a copy of your high school diploma/GED certificate or college transcript, social security card and driver's license. Georgia State Policy requires that any person who substitutes for teachers must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and receive four hours of training. Georgia law requires that each person be fingerprinted and have a criminal record check. Forms for fingerprinting will be given to each person to take to the Early County Sheriff's Department for this procedure. If you are on the current substitute teacher list and are presently employed fulltime or do not wish to remain on the list, please let us know.
For additional information or to change your status on the list, please call Janis Megahee at 723-4337.
