OBITUARIES Julia B. Gay Homemaker Julia B. Gay, 93, of Colquitt died Sept. 24, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Gay was born in Calhoun County. She was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Gay. Survivors include two daughters, Molly Hilburn and Betty Jean Hilburn, both of Colquitt; one brother, Joe Bundy of Greensboro, Fla.; one sister, Beulah McCorkle of Blakely; one granddaughter, Julie Hilburn; and one great-grandson, Jonah Charlie Hilburn. Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Sheffield Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with Rev. Billy Mills officiating. Interment followed at Kelley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Hilburn, Randy Brown, Rex Cook, Joe Cook, Tony Sammons and Ronnie Boyd. Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Susan McLain Homemaker Susan Carol Morgan McLain, 57, of Blakely died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Mrs. McLain was born Cleveland, Tenn., Jan. 29, 1950, to the late William Denny Morgan and Viola Bodie Castell Morgan Chambers. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She spent most of her life in Early County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Levon McLain. Survivors inlclude one daughter, Sandi Elledge and husband Mike of Blakely; two sons, Jeff McLain and wife Caryn of Blakely and Daniel McLain and wife Stephanie of Colquitt; nine grandchildren, Amanda Elledge of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Ashton McLain, Macey McLain, Nicolette Holt, Logan Holt and Grant McLain, all of Colquitt,Will McLain, Noah Elledge and Denver McLain, all of Blakely; and companion Johnny Richards and son, T.J. Richards of Midland City, Ala. Graveside services were Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at 12 p.m. at Blakely Cemetery with Rev.William Smith officiating. Manry-Jordan-Hodges was in charge of arrangements. Juanita Aycock Homemaker Juanita Hammack Aycock, 65, of Edison died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Columbus Medical Center in Columbus, Ga. Mrs. Aycock was born in Randolph County Dec. 5, 1941, to Evelyn Frazier Hammack Lofton of Bronwood, Ga., and the late Tommy Hammack. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia "Patsy" Waters; and one brother, Billy F. Hammack. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Alvin Aycock; two sons, Timothy Aycock and wife Teresa of Albany and Keith Aycock of Edison; one sister, Kitty Duvall and husband Gary of Greensboro, N.C.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be today, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Randolph County with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.
