SGA offensive moves the ball down the field in Damascus against Randolph Southern. The Warriors won 59-14 over the Patriots and travels to Americus this Friday night to play the Southland Raiders.
It was Homecoming at SGA Friday night. The day was rainy and the skies looked threatening, but it turned out to be a perfect night. The Warriors pounded the Randolph Southern School Patriots 59-14 and Homecoming Queen Jodi Harris and her court were recognized all without the need for umbrellas.

SGA received the opening kickoff and on the first play from scrimmage quarterback Drew Bridges threw a short pass to Michael Fincher. Fincher broke several tackles and picked up 29 yards before the Patriots could drag him down. Bridges completed another pass to Keaton Smith for 13 yards before a Warrior fumble ended the Warriors scoring threat.

On the Patriots' first play, they fumbled the ball right back to the Warriors.

The Warriors took over at the RSS 43-yard line and needed just 3 plays to find pay dirt. Alex Wilson shot up the middle, rumbling 36 yards for the touchdown. Chandler Ray kicked the extra point and SGA led 7-0.

RSS answered back with a 15-play, 67-yard drive for a touchdown but missed the extra point to make the score 7-6.

SGA was forced to punt on the ensuing possession. Fincher got off a high, hanging punt and just as the RSS player caught the ball, Wilson drilled him, forcing a fumble. Miles Lee was there to recover it for the Warriors at the 46-yard line.

It took the Warriors 7 plays to find the end zone. Quarterback Drew Bridges kept the ball on the option and ran it in for the touchdown from 5 yards out. Ray was again true with the kick and SGA led 14-6.

The Warrior defense stuffed the Patriots on their next possession forcing them to punt.

SGA took over at the 22- yard line and took just 4 plays to add to their lead. Lee ripped off a 20-yard run on second down. Bridges passed to Beau Clenney for 12 yards then hit Lee with a 40-yard touchdown strike. Ray added the extra point making it 21-6 at the 6:40 mark of the second quarter.

RSS fumbled on their next possession. The Patriots were able to hold the Warriors out of the end zone and SGA was forced to try a field goal. Mr. Automatic, Chandler Ray, nailed the 25-yarder right through the uprights to put SGA up 24-6.

The Patriots added a touchdown and got the 2- point conversion to make it a 24-14 game at the half.

Alex Wilson got the second half started for the Warriors by blocking a Patriot punt giving SGA the ball at the 11-yard line. Wilson ran it in from 5 yards out and Ray added the extra point.

Ethan Bundrick recovered another Patriot fumble setting up another Wilson touchdown run, this one from 20 yards out. Ray added the extra point again.

Will Brown ripped off a 45-yard run to set up SGA's next score. Miles Lee took it the final 10 yards for the touchdown. Ray once again added the extra point and at the 4:36 mark of the third quarter what was just minutes earlier a close game was now a blowout with SGA leading 45-14.

Taylor Tabb scored SGA's fourth touchdown in the third quarter, running it in from 11 yards out and Andrew Stone added the extra point.

Stone made a beautiful play running the option and holding the ball to the last second before pitching to Cody Buckhalter who scooted the final 11 yards for the Warriors final touchdown of the night.

With the win, SGA improves to 4-0 on the season. Ray and Stone had another perfect night of kicking, making eight extra points and a field goal. Wilson led SGA in rushing with 74 yards on 5 carries with 3 touchdowns. Bridges completed 9 of 15 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.

SGA travels to Americus to take on the Southland Academy Raiders Friday night.
