Warriors massacre Fullington Trojans 51-13
SGA scored five touchdowns and recorded a safety as they raced off to a 37-0 first quarter lead and coasted to a 51-13 victory. Fullington received the opening kickoff and managed a first down before having to punt. SGA took over at their own 27-yard line and the offensive explosions began. On first down, quarterback Drew Bridges fired a 58- yard bomb to Alex Wilson. Two plays later, Bridges passed to Beau Clenney, who made a leaping catch, scoring SGA's first touchdown from 14 yards out. Chandler Ray added the extra point and SGA led 7- 0. The Warrior defense stuffed the Trojans and forced them to punt. Wilson broke through and blocked the Trojans punt giving SGA the ball at the Trojans 19-yard line. Bridges passed to Miles Lee for 14 yards setting up Keaton Smith's 4-yard touchdown run. Ray nailed the extra point and SGA led 14-0 at the 6:40 mark of the first quarter. Fullington mishandled the ensuing kickoff and SGA's kickoff coverage team tackled the Trojan runner at the 5-yard line. The Warrior defense swarmed all over the Trojans, dropping them for a 3-yard loss on first down. Wilson hauled the Trojan quarterback down in the end zone for a safety on the next play putting SGA up 16-0. Fullington kicked off from their 20-yard line and Miles Lee fielded the kick, made a couple of nice moves, and raced for a 60-yard touchdown. Ray added the extra point giving SGA a 23-0 lead. SGA kicked off to Fullington and the SGA defense shut the Trojans down again. Ethan Bundrick sacked the Trojan quarterback for a 15-yard loss on first down, the first of four sacks for Bundrick on the night. Fullington attempted to punt, but Beau Clenney broke through and blocked the punt. Alan Mock scooped up the ball and returned it for another Warrior touchdown. Ray kicked the extra point making the score 30-0. On Fullington's next possession, the Trojan quarterback was back to pass and Bundrick drilled him forcing a fumble and Clenney recovered it to give SGA the ball at the Trojan 25-yard line. Wilson busted off runs of 11 and 8 yards to get SGA down close to the goal line. Quarterback Drew Bridges scored the touchdown, sneaking it in from 1 yard out behind the blocking of center Boone Kennedy and guard Chandler Ray. Andrew Stone added the extra point putting SGA up 37-0 at the 1:38 mark of the first quarter. In the third quarter, SGA freshman Taylor Tabb put SGA up 44-0 with a 17 yard touchdown run. Later in the quarter freshman fullback Troope Tabb bulled his way across the goal line scoring SGA's final touchdown from 3 yards out. SGA's defense destroyed Fullington holding them to minus 18 yards rushing on 27 carries. SGA kickers Chandler Ray and Andrew Stone were a perfect 7-of-7 kicking extra points. Taylor Tabb led the Warriors in rushing with 89 yards on seven carries and had an interception while playing defense.Will Brown added 48 yards on six carries. Quarterback Drew Bridges completed three of five passes for 86 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another touchdown. It is homecoming this Friday at SGA.
