Berta Lou Lee Homemaker Berta Lou Smith Lee, 80, of Jakin died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Early Memorial Nursing Home. Mrs. Lee was born in Early County Dec. 10, 1926, to the late James Smith and Docia Pyle Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Jessie Lee; two sons, Wayne Lee and wife Suzanne of St. Augustine, Fla., and Roger Boyce Lee and wife Carol of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Cindy Morgan and husband Dewain of Blakely; one sister, Leila Perry and husband William of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin with Rev. Fred Odom officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Hand, Tommy Tyler, Hunter Evans, Julian Houston, Ronnie Welch, Johnny McMullen, Rusty Bradley and Jerry Houston.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
