Larry Lee Allen Sr., 60, of Blakely died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Early Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Mr. Allen was born in Early County Nov. 6, 1946, to Sara Frances Billings Allen and the late Joseph S. Allen Jr. He was the shop foreman for the City of Blakely for the past 20 years. He was a member of Blakely First Assembly of God but attended Southside Baptist Church. He was also a member of Bikers for Christ of Dothan and the Brothers of the Third Wheel, Georgia Chapter. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam era.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Steven Allen.

Survivors, other than his mother, include his wife, Martha Ann Spriggs Allen; one daughter, Amy Michelle LaRocca and husband Tommy of Winter Haven, Fla.; four sons, Clint Allen and wife Michelle of Memphis, Tenn., Scotty Allen of Reidsville, Ga., Larry Lee Allen Jr. and wife Monica of Reidsville, Ga., and Steven Allen and wife Dawn of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Emily Sue Daniels and husband Ray of Ochlocknee, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Interment followed at Blakely Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris Warfield, Lavon Miskimen, Ritchie Wilbourn, Tim Cleveland, Danny Williams, Danny White, Ned Taylor and Keith Higginbotham.

Honorary pallbearers were City of Blakely employees and the Disciples Sunday school class.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
