Randall - Yelverton

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Edwin Mayhew Jr. and Charles David "Mike" Randall of Cherryville, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Fielding Randall, to Joshua Calvin Yelverton, son of Nancy Darden Yelverton of Blakely and Charlie Duke Yelverton of Edison.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ruth Murphy Burgess and the late Glen Lester Burgess Sr. of Cherryville, N.C., and the late David Monroe Randall and the late Jessie Ballard Randall of Cherryville, N.C.

Miss Randall earned a bachelor of arts in English from Wake Forest University in Winston- Salem, N.C., in 2003 and a juris doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon in 2006. She is employed as an attorney in the Office of the Public Defender, Macon Judicial Circuit, Macon, Ga.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hubert Darden Jr. of Blakely.

Mr. Yelverton earned a bachelor of science in chemistry at Mercer University in Macon in 2005 and is in the third year of the doctor of medicine program at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon.

The wedding will take place Dec. 22, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Cherryville, N.C. A reception will follow at the Cleveland Country Club in Shelby, N.C.
