Trivia Bee
Thursday at 7 p.m.

Trivia buffs will take the stage at Mangham Auditorium Thursday night for the Early County Literacy Task Force's first annual Trivia Bee. Eleven teams have registered to compete for Early County's trivia championship. The fun begins at 6:30. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.

Early County Elementary School's Ferry Tales team includes David Ferry, Tammy Storey and Sonja Rowland. The chamber of commerce's Mad Scientists are Janie Thomas, Sharon Hall and Rick LaGuardia.

Representing Early County High School as the Bobcats are Rob Turner, Julie Hilburn and Jarod Lovering with Rhonda Crowdis as alternate. The "Hole"ly Molars from Dallas Dental Care include Scott Cochran, Sunni Dallas and Jay Dallas.

Early Memorial Hospital's Hawaiian Honeys include Regena Temples, Sheila Freeman and Kevin Kirvan. Butch Wiggins, Karen LaBorde and Tabitha White make up the Bank of Early's Greenbacks.

Camp-E-Tu-Nake's Trivial Matters team members are Sam Blackshear, Leslie Gregoire and Tony Hawkins. The Early County Department of Family and Children Services' Trivia Troopers are Dania Spears, Walter McDonald and Cathy Davis.

Early County Middle School's Three Amigos are Turner Floyd, Freddie Odom and Matt Justice. Calhoun Memorial Hospital team members Jack Perryman, Jeff Braswell and Susan Cowart make up the Blues Clues.

Teams will field questions in categories such as food, sports, entertainment, geography and general information. The audience can play along when teams are stumped and purchase a shout out. Each team is allowed to purchase up to three shout outs. When only two teams are left, the contestants are on their own and shout outs can't be used.

Teams can also win awards for best costumes and best cheering section, so come out and support a team and be prepared to join in a shout out.

Proceeds from the Trivia Bee benefit literacy task force programs which include support of adult education programs, early literacy, family literacy and the Lonnie B. Chester Scholarship Fund.
