Qualifying underway
Qualifying is underway this week in the cities across Early County for the Nov. 6 city elections.
In last week's qualifying article the News had councilmen Torre Mills and Andy Smith in the wrong districts. Mills holds the district 1, post 2 seat and Smith holds the district 2, post 2 seat.
As of Tuesday afternoon both Mills and Smith, along with Mayor Ric Hall, had all qualified for re-election. The qualifying period closes Friday, Aug. 31 at 4:30 p.m.
See next week's News to see everyone who qualified in Blakely, Arlington and Damascus. All five Jakin city posts will be on the November 2008 city election ballot.
