Mercer University

Catherine Allison Simpson Curing of Arlington received a doctor of pharmacy degree at Mercer University's College of Pharmacy and Health Services commencement May 5. The college held commencement for the 140 graduates in the Sheffield Student Center on the University's Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus in Atlanta.

Jennifer Mollie Hunter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter Jr. of Cedar Springs, graduated from Mercer University School of Law. Miss Hunter received her degree during one of Mercer's 10 commencement exercises held in May. The University's commencement for Mercer's Walter F. George School of Law was held in the University Center May 12.

Bainbridge

Twenty students, including Early County area residents and a husband and wife, made Bainbridge College history as the first graduates of the associate degree of nursing program which began in January 2006. ADN graduates are Tessie Brackins of Arlington and Cheryl Ogden of Blakely.

Bainbridge College students who earned the distinction of being named to the dean's list and those named to the honors list for summer semester 2007 have been announced by vice president of academic affairs Dr. Rob Gingras.

Those named to the dean's list must have earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher while attending BC full-time. Honors list students must earn a 3.5 or higher GPA while attending BC on a part-time basis.

Dean's list - Clay County: LaTashia Tarver of Fort Gaines.

Early County: Carolyn Cooper, Mary McCray of Damascus.

Honors list - Calhoun County: Clayton Conners, Tiffany Grigley, Lisa Mike, Tramayne Williams of Arlington; Stacey Williams of Edison.

Clay County: Ashley Durham, Ashley Jones of Bluffton; Latoya Childs, Darlene Davis, Pamela Jackson, all of Fort Gaines.
