Sirens, the old and the new
City workers are pictured above installing a 50- foot pole with a siren mounted at the top which will soon be part of a warning system to warn local citizens of approaching weather hazards and other dangers that may threaten the community. The siren is located behind the city annex building. An old siren can be seen mounted on the water tank in the background. That old siren was used years ago primarily to summon volunteer firefighters to fires and emergencies. No comments have been posted. Be the first!
