Joshua C. Ford Jr. Conductor Joshua C. "Josh" McKinley Ford Jr., died July 22, 2007, at Ft. Sanders Seiver Medical Center in Seiverville, Tenn. Mr. Ford was born in Jakin April 25, 1947, to the late Joshua C. McKinley "J.C." Ford Sr. and Roberta Brown Ford. He was a member of Saint Paul African Methodist Church and was a conductor for the Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was past worshipful master of McHellon Lodge No. 931 F. & A.M. of Alabama Prince Hall Affiliation. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Ford Battles. Survivors include his wife, Joyce McGriff Ford; one son, Johnathan Jordan- Charles Ford; one daughter, Kayla Callie Roberta Ford; one brother, James W. Ford and wife Isabelle of Hermitage, Tenn.; four sisters, Betty Ford Jefferies of East Orange, N.J., Phyllis Ford of Newark, N.J., Channie Ford Baker and husband Bennie of Gaithersburg, Md., and Harriett Bendroos Evans and husband Mack of Hillside, N.J.; mother-inlaw, Callie M. McGriff of Gordon, Ala.; one aunt, Roxie Ford Davis and husband Lonnie of Jakin; and two uncles, Abraham Ford of Hartford, Conn., and Lonnie Ford and wife Earlyne of Jakin. Funeral services were Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Alvetta Butler officiating. Interment followed at Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Ford, Henry Hicks, Freddie Speights, Larry Grimsley, Joe Melton and Eddie Tolbert.
Community Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
